The women behind AWTE

More on LinkedIn
Lizzie

A room of women who understand the industry, who support each other rather than compete, and who make the hard days as sayable as the wins.

I joined after meeting Debbie O’Neill, our Chair, at the One of Many One Woman Conference, someone I’d looked up to for years. I work from home, which suits me, but it is quiet. I was looking for the thing a solo desk doesn’t give you: connection, and people who understand the work.

I chose to rejoin AWTE right now because you can feel the shift, there is a powerful new movement happening here and I absolutely wanted to be part of it.

AWTE isn’t just a networking group anymore; it’s a thriving, forward-thinking community that genuinely champions women at every stage of their career. The energy and vision behind where AWTE is heading right now is contagious, and it feels great to be back!

Joining AWTE felt like a natural fit for The Voyage Desk. The travel industry is built on relationships, collaboration, and strong support networks, for us AWTE represents exactly that.

Being surrounded by ambitious, inspiring women within travel is something we’re incredibly proud to be part of, especially as a growing business focused on supporting independent travel professionals behind the scenes.

Moments that bring us together

AWTE Christmas Lunch & Awards

December 2025

AWTE Christmas Lunch & Awards

Our flagship event of the year returned to Church House, Westminster, the Christmas season gathering the travel industry looks forward to. A glittering afternoon of celebration, recognition and connection, honouring the women who make our industry shine.

She Shines

March 2026

She Shines

Sixty women from across travel came together at the beautiful Shoreditch Treehouse for a day built around connection, exploring career transitions, practical financial advice, and the kind of honest conversation that reminds you you’re not navigating any of this alone. The warmth in the room was immediate.

Members’ Summer Social

July 2026

Members’ Summer Social

We gathered in the sunshine for drinks, nibbles and easy conversation, members catching up with old friends and new faces getting a real feel for who we are at AWTE. It was a relaxed, open-door kind of evening that showed the community at its most welcoming.
